Natural Skin Care Recipes Are Easy To Make
from:There are a huge number of natural skin care recipes that are easy to make from the ingredients that you typically will already have in your pantry or fridge at home. Some of these natural skin care recipes are very similar to the commercial preparations that sell for high prices in your local department store or through your cosmetic retailer. In addition the natural skin care recipes allow you to make the masks, scrubs and lotions fresh and only as needed, ensuring they are the most effective treatments for your skin.
It is important to carefully read the natural skin care recipes that you find to determine what type of skin they are most effective for. Typically if the recipe includes any type of soothing ingredient such as oatmeal, aloe or olive oil are more typically for sensitive or dry skin. Recipes that include fruits such as strawberries, bananas, vinegar or lemon are more astringent type treatments that are more effective for those individuals with oily skin or acne problems. Combination type skin may need different types of treatment, or stay with the gentle and soothing recipes to avoid over drying the skin.
As with any type of skin treatment it is important to use the natural skin care recipes correctly and to avoid overusing the products. It is also important to keep in mind that natural does not mean that you cannot have a reaction to using the skin care product, so always immediately discontinue use if you find the skin condition becomes more problematic or the skin becomes dry, flaky or itchy.
For sensitive skin an excellent and easy to make exfoliant and scrub includes the following natural skin care recipe. Simply add ½ a cup of cornmeal, uncooked, 2-3 teaspoons of baking soda, ¼ of a cup of whole milk, 1 tablespoon of olive oil and three to six drops of tea tree oil. Mix together until well blended and smooth, add to the face and gently massage into the skin for one minute. Rinse using warm water and follow up with cold water to close the pores. This mixture can be used two to three times a week to keep skin looking smooth and healthy.
A simple oil absorbing facial mask can be made using either mashed avocado or mango mixed with enough oatmeal to make a thick paste. It will be slightly lumpy. Simply apply this to the face and allow to sit for five minutes. Follow with a good rinse with warm water to clear the skin. For very oily skin mashed strawberries can also be added to the fruit mixture.
